Kimberly L. Thomas, founder of Talented Youth Development, Inc., also known as (TYDI), has been hosting etiquette workshops and directing scholarship competitions for young ladies gifted in the performing arts for the last 10 years. As a stay-at-home-mom for the last 2.5 years, she keeps her mind sharp as a volunteer Executive Director of the Miss Brooklyn & Brooklyn’s Outstanding Teen Scholarship Programs, official preliminaries to Miss New York and Miss America. Under Mrs. Thomas’ directorship, Miss Brooklyn 2008 won the title of Miss New York 2008 and placed 3rd Runner up to Miss America.

Mrs. Thomas has hosted etiquette workshops along with her business partner Sheryl Stokes in Michigan, New York, Georgia, and Ohio. A former pageant girl, she holds two titles and has placed in Top 5 in two Miss America Preliminary competitions. She enjoys singing and is involved with the Marriage Enrichment Ministry at her church. Long Island/Valley Stream affiliations include Grace United Methodist Church, Our Lady of Peace School, Broadway Bound Dance Center, Valley Stream Soccer Club, and Long Island Women’s Agenda.

Mrs. Thomas earned her B.A in the Fine, Performing and Communication Arts with a concentration in Public Relations from Wayne State University in Detroit. She also holds a certificate in Meeting & Event Planning from New York University. Mrs. Thomas currently lives in Valley Stream, NY with her husband, 4 year old daughter, and 2year old son.
